How to Apply

Eligibility:

Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the US.

Applicants must be nominated by either: (1) the chair of his/her graduate playwriting program (and have received a graduate degree between 2006-2009); or (2) the artistic director of a theater company whom the Lark has invited to nominate a writer (these writers do not need to hold any kind of degree)

Applicants are not eligible if they are currently enrolled in a degree-granting institution.

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.

NOTES: Applicants nominated for the PONY Fellowship can only apply for two consecutive years. Theater companies who are interested in nominating writers for future PONY Fellowships should contact the Lark at info@playwrightsofnewyork.org.

Selection Process:

* The Nominator must fill out and submit the NOMINATION FORM no later than DECEMBER 4, 2009.

* Once nominated, the Playwright must then download the APPLICATION from this website, compile the required materials, and submit no later than JANUARY 15, 2010 to: info@playwrightsofnewyork.org.

* Ten finalists will be selected, notified and interviewed either in person or by phone the week of March 8, 2010.

* The winning PONY Fellow will be required to begin residency and active participation in the LARK community on October 1, 2010.

* The Fellowship ends September 15, 2011.
